How It All Began

In 2018, our founder Sarah Thompson witnessed firsthand the challenges her elderly neighbor faced accessing quality support services. Despite the neighbor's eligibility for assistance, the process was confusing, impersonal, and often inadequate.

That moment sparked a vision: to create a support service that truly puts people first. Sarah, with her background in community services and a heart for helping others, decided to start small – helping just one person at a time, building trust through genuine care and attention.

What began as one person's mission to make a difference has grown into Queensland's most trusted support care provider, but our core values remain unchanged: every person deserves dignity, respect, and the support they need to live their best life.

Founder & CEO

With over 15 years in community services, Sarah founded Able Assist with a vision to revolutionize support care. She holds a Master's in Social Work and is passionate about advocacy for disability rights.

Clinical Director

Dr. Johnson brings 20+ years of healthcare experience, specializing in disability support and aged care. He ensures all our services meet the highest clinical standards and best practices.

Operations Manager

Lisa coordinates our day-to-day operations with precision and care. Her background in logistics and her personal experience as a carer bring invaluable insight to our service delivery.

First 100 Clients

Reached our first major milestone of supporting 100 individuals across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

2020

COVID-19 Response

Adapted services during the pandemic, ensuring continuous support for vulnerable community members when they needed it most.

2021

NDIS Registration

Became a registered NDIS provider, expanding our ability to serve the disability community with comprehensive support.

2022

Team Expansion

Grew our team to over 50 support workers, enabling us to serve clients across South East Queensland.

Excellence Recognition

Received the Queensland Community Care Award for outstanding service delivery and client satisfaction.
